Matthew Drive Extension - South Union Township - Fayette County -  This project was located within the boundaries of the Fayette Business Park and was a vital link in the overall transportation system for South Union Township and all of Fayette County.  The project provided direct access from the Mon-Fayette Expressway to S.R. 0040 West through the Business Park to S.R. 4006 (New Salem Road) and onto S.R. 0021 and S.R. 0040 East.  The project consisted of extending Twp. Road 911 to an intersection with nearby S.R. 0040, a distance of 4088 feet of newly constructed roadway. The project also included the realignment of Twp. Road 584 (Duck Hollow Road). PS&E was submitted on June 30, 2006 and the project was completed on July 19, 2008.

Chaintown Bridge Replacement - Fayette and Westmoreland Counties - This project included a Single Span (Span Length - 90 feet) Composite Prestressed Concrete Bridge carrying S.R. 1041 over Jacobs Creek.  The entire project length was 550 feet.  This project was placed on a fast track due to an over-weight truck collapsing the bridge. The agreement was executed on July 8, 1998, and we submitted the final P.S.& E. package on July 31, 1998.

This project consisted of replacing a two-span bridge with a two span (92.2’ span) bridge over York Run. The project included 800’ of approach roadway reconstruction. SPK developed the conceptual plans and specifications for a Department Design-Build project. SPK also provided design review and construction consultation on the project.
